Salmon Arm B.C. — The Silverbacks organization is actively seeking billet families for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Some players spend just a week or two in Salmon Arm, but others spend an entire season with the team. No matter the situation, players need a place to call home while they are representing the city as members of the Silverbacks organization. Billet families play a vital role within the Silverback organization, as players need a place to call home while they are away from their own. For many of these players this is their first time away from home, so they need a supportive and welcoming environment.
Team players spend a lot of time at the rink, in the community volunteering, and on the road for a number of road trips. Some of these players will be taking classes at Salmon Arm secondary, the college, or online. With the BCHL being a road to the NCAA, academics are extremely important to both the players and coaches.
Being a billet is a very unique and rewarding experience, one that gives an inside look at the development and growth of a young hockey player, both on and off the ice. Many of the relationships between a player and their billet family last well beyond junior hockey.
As a billet family, you will receive free season tickets plus a monthly allowance.
