Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have signed Forward Grant Dillard (’06), Goalie Daniel Dirracolo (’05), and Goalie Trigg Pimm (’06).
Dillard started the season in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers and has proven he can score where he had 8 goals in 25 games played. The 6’1″ forward spent 83 games in the USHL over the past three seasons, putting up 12 goals and 3 assists for 15 points.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Salmon Arm Silverbacks,” said Dillard. “I’m grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to meet the fans and become part of this amazing community.”
The Champaign, Illinois product has suited up for three games already with the Silverbacks.
“We’re getting a hard working forward that has some touch around the net,” said Silverbacks GM and Head Coach, Tyler Shattock. “We think he will really help us down the stretch and into the playoffs.”
Dirracolo joins the Silverbacks with a wealth of junior experience already under his belt. The 19-year-old started the year in the OJHL where he had a 12-4 record with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, while putting up a 2.34 GAA and a 0.920 SV% and 3 shutouts.
“I’m super excited and honoured to be joining the Silverbacks organization,” said Dirracolo. “I can’t wait to get started”
Having already suited up in one game for the Silverbacks, the Woodbridge, Ontario native put up a 1.84 GAA and a 0.923 SV% in his BCHL debut.
“With Grout leaving to the WHL, we thought it was important to bring in competition in the crease to get the best out of everyone,” said Shattock. “Daniel being an ’05, hopefully comes in and does a good job and we have him for this year and as a twenty-year-old next year.”
Pimm spent last season with the Strathcona Warriors U18 AA team where he had a 11-2-3 record with a 1.64 GAA and a 0.947 SV%.
“I’m very excited and grateful to have the opportunity to join the Silverbacks,” said Pimm. “Salmon Arm is a great fit with a group of guys that are dedicated to putting in the work everyday and value team success over individual success. It’ll be a great opportunity to get to work with high caliber coaches that drive us to improve on a daily basis. I’m looking forward to see what the future holds for this group and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
With those number last season, the Peace River product lead the league in both GAA and SV%. He also played in 8 playoff games with a 1.50 GAA and a 0.951 SV%.
“Having Angus here everyday to teach our goalies, we felt it would be great development for Trigg to come in and learn, not just from Angus, but from our other goalies as well,” said Shattock.
The Silverbacks would like to welcome Grant, Daniel, Trigg, and their families to the organization!
