Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks played in Blackfalds for the first time in franchise history against the Bulldogs to wrap up the Alberta road trip.
The Silverbacks are able to take the first period lead. Getting a late powerplay with five minutes left, the man advantage goes to work with Cole Cooksey hammering a one-timer back door to get the Silverbacks on the board, 1-0. Two minutes later with another powerplay, Patrick Raftery drives to the net and then finishes off his own rebound for the 2-0 lead. Before the period ends, the Bulldogs find the score clock when Tristan Payne sends one on net through traffic for his first career BCHL goal, 2-1.
Adding onto the lead in the second period, the Silverbacks score one. Coming out of the media timeout, Maddux Martin finishes a scramble in front for his even tenth goal of the season, pushing the lead to 3-1. After the middle frame, the Silverbacks lead on the shot total, 30-21.
Grabbing another couple, the Silverbacks finish the game off in the third period. Seven minutes in, Tommy Cronin rushes up the right wing and snaps one by the blocker for his fifth goal of the season, making it 4-1. Not done yet, Liam Beamish gets his second of the road trip, fourth of the season when he completes the rebound into the wide open net, 5-1. In the final minute, while on a powerplay, Blackfalds gets one more when Matthew Ronn scores his first career BCHL goal.
